Recent concern about the adverse effects of chlorination of wastewaters has prompted the investigation for improved methods of wastewater disinfection. Ultraviolet disinfection (UV) has gained popularity in recent years due to its lack of known negative impacts on the environment. An emerging technology of disinfection involves using titanium dioxide (TiO;TiO
