Computer-assisted Neuropsychological Symptom Screen (CNSS).

A project was undertaken to develop a computer-assisted diagnostic program capable of correlating patient symptoms with seven categories of (13 distinct) neuropsychological disorders. The program is called the Computer-assisted Neuropsychological Symptom Screen (CNSS) and utilizes a 261-item symptom screening questionnaire which can be administrated by nondoctoral health professionals either manually onsite or electronically at a computer terminal.;The program is intended to be used as an interviewing screening tool in order to elicit and organize patient symptoms, identify potential neuropsychological disorders, and provide efficient referrals to appropriate specialists in the neurosciences. As an electronic database and teaching aid, CNSS may also be used to train students in medicine, psychology, and other related health care milieus.
