摘要

This research investigated the absorption of low pressure water vapor into an aqueous lithium bromide spray. Work included building and testing a spray absorber. A spreadsheet program, composed of first principle models available in the literature, modeled spray absorption performance. This study is the first known application of these general models to lithium bromide absorption cooling applications.; The experiment measured absorption rates for practical sprays with mean drop sizes from 150-500 microns and drop speeds from 2 to 8 meters/sec. The spreadsheet program produced reasonable agreement with experimental results. Experimental scatter was in the range of the error bounds of the equipment.; The spray absorption process may have application in absorption cooling systems.
