Cubism and its relationship to the theory of relativity and modernism in literature.

摘要

Science, art and literature changed quickly during the twentieth century. Much depends on whether or not these changes grew in a vacuum and arrived at similar conclusions or whether each discipline built on the accreted knowledge available at the time. This revolutionary change is studied through the literature at the time on the science of Einstein along with reviewing Picasso's paintings and reading the work of their contemporaries including Gertrude Stein.;The end result is that art and literature did learn from science and each other. The changes created were brought about together not in a collaborative way but in a studiously pursued search for knowledge and information from the times. The goals were often the same and the pursuit of knowledge was richly rewarded with a revolutionary change in thinking in both literature and the visual arts.
