Colorfastness to laundering: A comparison of selected accelerated methods to cold temperature machine home laundering.

摘要

The purpose of the study was to compare (a) cold temperature machine home laundering, (b) a test method based on Test 1A in AATCC Test Method 61-1993, and (c) a test method based on Test 2A in AATCC Test Method 61-1993 for variance in shade change and staining of tested textiles. The shade change results of the 10 selected textiles tested according to test methods based on Test 1A and Test 2A were substantiated by rating the tested specimens against specimens subjected to five cold temperature machine home launderings to determine if Test 1A or Test 2A accurately predicts the amount of shade change which occurs in repeated cold temperature machine home laundering. The staining results of the 10 selected textiles tested according to test methods based on Test 1A and Test 2A were substantiated by rating the tested specimens against specimens subjected to one cold temperature machine home laundering to determine if Test 1A or Test 2A accurately predicts the amount of staining which occurs in the first cold temperature machine home laundering. Staining results for Test 1A and Test 2A were compared only to one cold temperature machine home laundering because the staining which occurs in the first wash may destroy an entire wash load or garment.;An Atlas Launder-Ometer
