New technology and the practice of public relations: Launching a World Wide Web site for the Malibu Chamber of Commerce.

A public relations project was organized to launch an Internet site on the World Wide Web for the Malibu Chamber of Commerce. After the concept was approved, A Technology Committee was established to conduct a feasibility study. Once potential Internet service providers were identified, they presented to the Committee and a provider was selected. Vision Internet Providers developed a site for the Chamber, and launched the site on May 1, 1996. At a luncheon featuring County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, the site was debuted to the Malibu business community and local media. This project was evaluated, and deemed successful on the given criteria.
