Studies focused on early harvest and the effects of a 43.3;Seed of all genotypes at two harvest dates had very high seed quality (95.4 to 99.7% standard germination and 94.2 to 99.5% old test) after they were dried at 30 and 43.3;Suwan-1 ears with seed moisture of 32.2 to 36.1% were dried with constant temperatures of 40 and 46;A highly significant correlation of 0.91 existed between cold test results and the Tetrazolium vigor test of inbred Tx601. The means of potential germination and the vigor test obtained from the TZ test closely approximated the normal seedlings from standard germination and cold test. The TZ test may have a potential as a quick test for detecting seed vigor and viability, and for monitoring drying injury.
