Building a bridge between the generations of immigrants in the First Korean United Methodist Church of Dallas.

The Korean immigrants, one of the fastest growing ethnic groups in the United States, have successfully settled in the new land, though they have experienced and are still experiencing unexpected social, cultural, economic and linguistic conflicts in their daily lives in the United States. Because of these sufferings, many Korean-speaking churches have been established to meet their needs.;The author offers an in-depth examination of historical overview of Korean immigration and the Korean churches in the United States. He analyzes each immigrant family generation (the first, the 1.5, and the second generation), its uniqueness, unique problems and struggles as immigrants and immigrants children, along with the problems of the Korean immigrant church in detail in the light of the foregoing situation.;How can these problems be solved? What is the future of the Koreans and Korean churches in the United States? The author is cautious about making definite predictions, and yet he sees clear picture that the future of Korean church will be more mature, more seasoned, more committed to serving Jesus Christ. To make that possible, the author is willing to dedicate himself to be a leader of building a bridge between the generations of Korean, along with dedicated fellow workers from each generation. This project is needed to the Korean churches for the present and the future, and provides provoking insights. This is a great foundation, inspiration, a guidebook and a map for the Korean immigrant churches, and the emerging generations.
