Laboratory and field evaluation of commercial Trichogrammatid products for control of Plutella xylostella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae).

Plutella xylostella has developed resistance to most insecticides and in many regions of the world control is no longer possible. Insect parasitoids, such as Trichogrammatid egg parasitoids, may be helpful as a component in an overall pest management program for P. xylostella. Trichogrammatid parasitoids have been used extensively against several important pests, however, not all commercial Trichogrammatid products are suitable against P. xylostella.;In the laboratory we evaluated three Trichogrammatid products (Trichogrammatoidea bactrae Nagaraja, Trichogramma pretiosum Riley and T. minutum Riley) using parasitoid impact in experimental cage tests.
