Implementation of DSP-based IS-54 receiver.

The use of programmable digital signal processors (DSPs) is growing rapidly in telecommunication applications. This work presents design and implementation details of baseband IS-54 receiver on off-the-shelf digital signal processor. The receiver includes; square root raised cosine matched filter, frame synchronization, differential symbol detection and recursive least square - fractionally spaced equalizer. The performance is tested in real time mode with digital signal generator as well as in the non-real time mode with input samples generated in Matlab. Eye diagram, signal constellation and bit-error-rate is presented for static AWGN channel.
