Artificial rearing of kids: Importance of colostrum feed, growth and carcass and meat quality.

60 dairy goats were used for studding colostrum quality. Colostrum quality was measured by physic and chemistry characteristic, showing the transforming from colostrum in milk at 36 hours after birth. The passive immune transfer was studied using 48 kids. Four colostrum management were tested, observing the highest IgG concentration in ad libitum colostrum feed kids. Growth study was development using 120 male and female kids. The highest growth were showed by mother reared kids, and milk replacer kids showed growth about 70%. 40 carcass were assayed for carcass quality. Carcass yield and associated parameters, carcass conformation and joint and tissue distribution. Diet type (goat milk vs. milk replacer) and live weight at slaughter (6 vs. 10 kg) were evaluated. The meat quality was measured on Longisimus dorsii, Triceps braquial and Semimenbranosus by chemist composition, physic parameters, muscle fiber distribution. In carcass and meat quality the diet used had not affected it, and in opposite the increase in live weight at slaughter improved it.
