Industrially utilized synthesis reactions and their use in estimating changes in chemical prices.

The goal of this thesis is to provide a method of estimating changes in chemical prices given changes in the costs of one or more raw materials for that chemical. Multiple spreadsheets have been compiled containing data for 149 chemicals tracked by Chemical Market Reporter in its weekly Chemical Profile. Synthesis reactions used industrially comprise the primary spreadsheet. Such process information as temperatures, pressures, and catalysts are also included in this spreadsheet. A second spreadsheet contains the date of the most recent Chemical Profile and the price information for each chemical. The most recent breakdown of the end uses of each chemical is listed in a third spreadsheet. Chemical formulas, molecular masses, CAS numbers, and IUPAC names are listed in the final spreadsheet. The information in these spreadsheets provides not only the required quantities for determining price changes but also the required information for screening multiple reaction paths.
