Are the physicians located where the healthcare needs are?

Until unconventional approaches are taken, the distribution or maldistribution of physicians will continue to plague the United States. The nation is afflicted with healthcare issues. Talk of healthcare reform hits the evening news almost weekly. Access issues are commonplace in small town America while in urban settings doctors cannot seem to find enough patients. "Physician shortage" has been discussed for decades. This paper will analyze the physician distribution problem infesting America. This capstone will cover the history of physician caps on the number of students allowed into medical schools, where the physicians live in correlation to the population of America and lastly, what can be done to fix the problem.
