In the electrical engineering, the numerical simulations for circuits development are considered as an important design tool. Therefore, a project called ENELMACH which stands for "Entrainements Electriques de MACHines" has been developed at the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal to provide a variety of users with a virtual environment for the design and the numerical simulation of almost any kind of variable speed drives. This environment has been developed under Matlab (computation tool environment) and Simulink (graphic library). Under this platform, ENELMACH achieves a high level of reliability in a standalone machine implementation. However, an access via a public network such as the Internet is still not available. This feature would be quite worthy in education and industry.; The concept discussed in the present project is to develop an Internet site called ENELWEB which stands for "Entrainements Electriques de machines via le WEB", able to publish all earlier ENELMACH features in an easy and well-designed interface. It means that any user machine with a web browser and Internet connection will be able to consult ENELWEB web pages, choose one or more described circuits, submit its simulation with the default or a customized parameters. The request will be sent to a specific server dedicated to these duties and then the graphical or numerical results will be retrieved back to the user in less than a few seconds.; In this report, we will describe all the aspects of ENELMACH under Matlab/Simulink, and then we will expose the new concept developed in ENELWEB. At that point, all development aspects will be discussed from implementation architectures, ergonomic features and different possible configurations.; Finally, future goals of the site in economic and educative fields such as educational assistance and complex expert systems will be introduced in the conclusion.
