This thesis presents a comparative study of push-pull inverter topologies for UPS systems. It consists of description, operation, simulation and analysis for each topology studied. Advantages and disadvantages of each topology are discussed. Conventional Push-pull inverter is taken as a base to generate the other low and high frequency topologies.; The use of inverters in UPS systems is an alternative way to feed very critical loads where uninterrupted energy supply is always necessary. The study shows the importance of minimizing the harmonics content of the inverter output to improve the performance of UPS.; Simulation analysis has been made for each topology. Steady state performance waveforms are obtained from the circuit simulations. Programs have been developed using PSpice for obtaining the waveforms of different variables of the inverters. These are made for normal conditions and for amplitude and harmonic control. By properly modifying the switching scheme of the inverter, a controlled output can be obtained.
