Cooperative resource management in desiderata.

Resource Management plays a key role in allocating resources to the tasks efficiently and to achieve the desired QoS requirements. In this process, if all the resources are distributed among multiple Local Area Networks (LANs), then the communication distances among the hosts of different LANs play a major role. If there is only one resource manager is managing resources across multiple LANs, the resource management is quite inefficient. By providing a hierarchy in the way the tasks are distributed and the resources are managed across the multiple LANs, cooperative resource management in introduced. In this type of resource management, there is one resource manager managing resources in a single LAN and the resource managers of all the LANs cooperate among themselves with the help of a higher level resource manager, to manage all the resources across multiple LANs. In this process the resource manager manages the resources independently and transparently, not having the knowledge of other LANs and their resources in the system.
