Since the business environment is getting more complex, organizations are adjusting to the environment by making profuse changes resulting in new career concepts. These changes are primarily internal career orientations, which are an individual's self-concept and personal career definition. This study explores how internal career orientation affects impression management and organizational citizenship behavior. Data were collected from eight medium-to-large organizations in Thailand. It is found that individuals with different internal career orientations showed different levels of organizational citizenship behavior and impression management, especially job-focused tactics influenced a supervisors perceived organizational citizenship behavior for employees working with the current supervisor for less than or equal to 6 months. Implications, limitations, and directions for future study are included.
