My thesis shows the dichotomy of being what some might call "trailer trash" and being a highly educated "fine artist". Being directly influenced by my relationship/history with this environment, my work includes an exploration of southern culture, narrative satire, and self-identity/role playing shown through a sardonic. There is also the occasional chicken head, cockfight, and abandoned construction equipment. These are just a few things that make up the menagerie of Well's Trailer Park. Some of these prints are trashy and crude, both formally and subject wise. Others are formally and conceptually sophisticated. This has been my intent, to show that the stereotype of the trailer park is not true. But it does have its roots deep down in some pretty unrefined soil.
