Organizations face numerous challenges as they move from the industrial era into the knowledge era. One of those challenges is the need to address how knowledge will be shared. Knowledge-sharing can provide organizations with a strategic advantage by decreasing the impact from retirements and having less available money to conduct work. As the need to share knowledge increases, recognition of the need for related leadership support and strategy becomes essential. This study assesses the relationship between knowledge-sharing and leadership. Assessing the relationship between knowledge-sharing and leadership will help organizations to derive meaning on what leadership practices can support and enhance the sharing of knowledge.;The study utilized two assessment tools to analyze the relationship between knowledge-sharing and leadership: The Knowledge-Sharing and Leadership Practices Inventory Assessment Tools. The study investigated if there was support and strategy in place for both knowledge-sharing and leadership. Also conducted was an analysis on whether there was a correlation between knowledge-sharing and leadership. The study sample was made up of 35 participants in two organizationally recognized knowledge-sharing activities. The mid-level study results dictated that there is some support and a strategy in place for both knowledge-sharing and leadership, however, the organization continues to have work that needs to be done to get them to a fully supporting knowledge-sharing level. The study results also indicated a strong relationship between knowledge-sharing and leadership.
