The researcher explores the evolution of aviation development and its synergistic relationship with American foreign affairs, military, and social history. Six case study domains, which exemplify this relationship, are examined. These domains are the role and intent of the United States government in the initial development of the aircraft; the use of aircraft by the United States in the Mexican interventions of 1914 and 1916; America's aviation strategy during the First World War; Charles Lindbergh and the advancement of American aviation; the birth and growth of PanAmerican and the role of the famous PanAmerican Clippers in developing the American global perspective; and the birth and development of the diplomatic infrastructures that undergird international aviation. The objective of the researcher is to use the above case study domains to form the nucleus of the first section of an interdisciplinary curriculum for use at the collegiate level that demonstrates the influence of aviation technological development on modernization in an interdisciplinary and global perspective.
