An exploration of the Bluetooth technology implemented in the Widcomm BlueConnect modules.

This project aims to explore the Bluetooth technology. The product is to be a business card application that can transfer entries via a Bluetooth link. The Bluetooth module is the Widcomm BlueConnect module that will run on the Handspring Visor running Palm OS. The application allows the user to add cards manually or to receive them through the wireless connection. A Bluetooth emulated serial connection will provide the means for data transfer.; The client device is the device that is sending a business card. The user can find and select multiple servers to send to. The application implements Widcomm's Discovery API, which allows the program to “inquire” and “discover” remote devices running the same program. The server device is any device waiting to receive a business card.; The client device will automatically discover remote devices that are running the BlueCard application, and retrieve the user-friendly names for each device. The user can then select multiple servers to send the business card to. The server requires the user to notify the application of when to open the serial connection. Once the server is waiting to receive a connection, the client device can then connect and send the entry.
