Representations of infinite dimensional Lie algebras.

We study a family of universal, indecomposable modules for the affine and double affine Lie algebra associated to a simple Lie algebra g . We prove that these modules are generically reducible and compute their dimensions. We also give a criterion for these modules to be irreducible.
