Soil survey of the Agua Adentro Mountain and Sauceda Ranch Quadrangles, Presidio County, Texas.

I have conducted an Order 3 soil survey of the Agua Adentro Mountain and Sauceda Ranch Quadrangles to provide detailed spatial and quantitative soils data in Big Bend Ranch State Park, Texas. The survey was accomplished through an iterative system of legend building, field investigations, mapping, and transecting.; Eleven new soil series were established during the course of the survey. These soils were sampled for characterization of select properties in the laboratory. Results were used to establish classification of each series in accordance with Soil Taxonomy. Twenty-five map units were recognized within the soil survey area. An order 3 soil map of the 33,569 hectare soil survey area was created.; Soil temperature monitoring was conducted to determine soil temperature regimes within the soil survey area. Nine sensors were installed within the park for a two-year period. Mean annual soil temperatures for each of the nine sites was calculated.
