Every year wiring-related faults in aging aircraft cost millions of dollars, not to mention the loss of human life that may result. Frequency domain reflectometry has been developed to facilitate the early detection of these faults to prevent losses. Accurate simulation of this system and its behavior when connected to a set of wires is desired in order to better understand the system and how to improve it. For this reason the FDR is reviewed and a method for accurate simulation is established, which will allow the study of the frequency domain reflectometer and its behavior in a variety of situations that are not available in hardware due to expense and/or availability.; This thesis examined these issues and compared the results acquired from simulations to results acquired from actual wires and wire harnesses.
