摘要

The two way shape memory effect (TWSME), is described as a reversible change in the form of a shape memory alloy (SMA). The Nitinol alloy is one of the materials that reflect this phenomenon best. This investigation seeks to optimize the final response of TWSME in the elongation of Nitinol springs, after training. This optimization is obtained through a response surface analysis design from the following factors: temperature and time of the heat treatment applied to the material to shape setting, number of cycles of training, weight applied, number of coils of spring and the electrical current. The results obtained with the analysis showed that it is possible to reach an optimal response bigger than the one obtained in the cited references. In addition, the factors such as the number of cycles of training and the temperature of the prior heat treatment affect the response of TWSME.
