Internet use: Savior or spoiler for Chinese sojourners' life? .

摘要

This paper studies how the new media and communication tool, Internet use, influence anxiety and uncertainty reduction, and further cross-cultural adaptation of Chinese sojourners in U.S. Internet use is examined separately as host internet use and ethnic internet use. The results of this study are correspondence with previous researches. A model that indicates host internet use can help to improve cross-cultural adaptation through reducing anxiety and uncertainty has been supported by the data. The effect of ethnic internet use has not been supported in this study and needs to be further studied in the future research.
