Researchers have emphasized the need to address the prevalence of organized crime and corrupt governments within the emerging global market. The current correlational study presents analysis of the relationships between personal and cultural values to a culture's business practices. This analysis provides further insight into each group's business practitioners self-reported personal and cultural values, and identifies the degree of differences between these two groups in specific value types. The study may provide further knowledge underpinning the traditions, economics, environment, religion, government, and legal aspects attributing to a culture's business ethics. The findings of the current study are important to organizations in Russia and the United States, and also organizations around the world wishing to partner with organizations in Russia or the United States. Knowledge of where specific personal or cultural variables fall within Hofstede's cultural dimensions of individualism, indulgence, masculinity, monumentalism, long-term orientation, and uncertainty avoidance, or Schwartz's personal dimensions of conservation, openness to change, self-enhancement, and self-transcendence, along with the ten underlying characteristics may enable business practitioners to make better decisions when considering international business partnerships. Such a model may provide valuable information about the approach and engagement of international business partners to reduce risk, increase mutual trust, foster harmony, and maximize revenues.
