The role of information technologies in building strategic networks.

摘要

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the role of the information technology (IT) in creating strategic networks, using an eclectic approach that takes into account both transaction costs economics and the resource-based view. Within the context of a case-study methodology, we test various propositions, relating to the economic (saving transaction costs) and strategic (creating value) role of IT in creating and sustaining strategic networks. So this paper aims to further the construction and development of theories for both descriptive and explicative purposes.
