Financial Performance of Logistics Divisions in Three Small International Companies.

Organizational leaders have historically viewed logistics divisions as not having an influence on the other departments within an organization. The purpose of this quantitative study is to examine the lack of understanding of the relationship between the structure and strategy of logistics divisions and the financial stability of the small international organization. The research questions involved understanding whether relationships exist between the structure and strategy of the logistics division and the financial stability of the organization in small agricultural-based international organizations. This quantitative correlation study used general systems theories as the theoretical framework. Data were collected via financial records supplied by 3 small agricultural-based international organizations, and a survey was completed by employees and executives employed in the logistics division in the 3 organizations. Pearson's product moment correlations coefficient and analysis of variance were used to test the hypotheses. Results indicated a significant positive relationship between the structure and strategy of the logistics division and the financial stability of the organization. Implications for positive social change included improved financial stability, improved business practice, and longevity of small international businesses.
