In this study, I examine the determinants of immigrant venture strategies and performance. I propose that the entrepreneur is central to strategy and performance of their ventures. The forms of capital possessed by the entrepreneur (which provides resources to the venture) alongside the entrepreneur's culture and social identity determine the strategy pursued by a venture. Venture strategy is hypothesized to influence performance based on how well aligned the strategy is to the aspirations and capital possessed by the immigrant entrepreneur. Empirical analyses conducted on a sample of 104 Immigrant ventures in Wisconsin provide support for these hypotheses.
