摘要

This thesis includes measurements of commercial Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile wireless technology performance in both indoor and outdoor environments. An analysis is also included that compares LTE throughput and other LTE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). A commercial LTE network at 700 MHz is used as well as a 2x2 Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO) antenna system. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the LTE network performance for indoor and outdoor users that receive signals from outdoor cell sites. The conclusion of this thesis is that the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) is positively correlated to the performance. However, other LTE KPIs should also be considered when analyzing the performance. Although a higher average throughput and a more consistent performance can be observed more frequently in outdoor areas as opposed to indoor areas, the environment is an additional factor that affects the performance and should also be considered.
