Project leadership and project cost-effectiveness in a Navy Research and Development Center.

摘要

The purpose of this mixed methods research design utilizing quantitative, descriptive, correlational techniques of a non-experimental nature and qualitative descriptive measures of structured interviews was to test organizational learning theory among leaders and team members employed at a U.S. Navy Research and Development Center. Learning organization analysis, leadership practices inventories, and interviews compared and contrasted leadership decision performance with the dependent variables of project leadership and project cost-effectiveness. Statistically significant correlations among study variables showed strong relationships between dependent variables and the independent variables of systems thinking, envisioning, collaboration, and others. The qualitative data augmented the numerical results and described project cost-effectiveness issues. The findings answered the research questions and were consistent with original models and hypotheses.
