Information sharing in business-to-business exchanges.

摘要

Since its emergence in the late 90's, business-to-business (B2B) exchanges have changed the landscape of B2B trading dramatically. A key change is that separate supply chains are merging toward integrated supply networks as firms from different supply chains join a same B2B exchange. While it is commonly recognized that the shift from supply chains to supply networks has far reaching implications for supply chain management, scholarly research on the phenomenon is scarce. This dissertation aims to fill this void by examining implications of the merging process and investigating effects of information sharing, which is a key aspect of modern supply chain management and a critical success factor of B2B exchanges, in the context of integrated supply networks.
