Socio-economic factors affecting juvenile delinquency in Ghana.

This study utilized secondary data obtained from Ghana Statistical Service Population and Housing Census (2010) and Ghana Prisons Service (GPS) Annual General Report on Juveniles (2013) to evaluate the socio-economic factors affecting juvenile delinquency. The independent variables were two-parent households and employment status while the dependent variables were murder, stealing and narcotics use. The study sought to address whether two-parent households and employment influenced murder, stealing and narcotics use.;It is argued that a stronger bond between parents and children will deter the latter from engaging in murder, stealing and narcotics use. It was concluded that two-parent households and employment status variables had a moderate and weak relationship and predictability for the dependent variables.
