Characteristics of laryngeal diadochokinetic rates in the normal aging population.

Laryngeal diadochokinesis (L-DDK) measurements can be used by speech-language pathologists as a clinical tool to assess laryngeal function. Current research, however, is lacking in normative data of L-DDK for the aging population (60 - 90 years) in both men and women. Inconsistencies of collection and measurements of L-DDK data also exist in previous studies. The current research study aimed to bridge this gap in the literature by collecting normative L-DDK data on both men and women in the aging population.
