An ethno-ecohistorical study of the Lisu ethnic minority in upper river basin of Jinshajiang and Lancangjiang, northwestern part of Yunnan Province, China (Japanese text).

摘要

Upper river basins of Jinshajiang and Lancangjiang, including Nujiang basin, known as "Three parallel rivers" was registered as the World Heritage in 2003, thanks to their rich bio- and natural diversities as well as ethnic and cultural diversities. These areas are also known as important fields for anthropological research since olden times.; This thesis aims to demonstrate from the ethno-ecohistorical viewpoint, and based on fieldwork, the reality of interactions between the ethnic group and the surrounding environment, focusing upon subsistence complex, use of eco-environment and its transition, and strategy for sustainable resource management. The target is the Lisu people that lives in the mountain regions between Jinshajiang and Lancangjiang rivers in Yunnan province of China. I claim the prime significance of the notion of eco-governance in realizing both environmental conservation and resource management as a whole.
