The effects of a prenatal health teaching program.

摘要

This quantitative study described the effectiveness of an early pregnancy series in increasing the knowledge of the clients in self-care during pregnancy and early newborn care. The Neuman Systems Model was used as the base for the repeated measures design using a pre-test and post-test to determine the level of knowledge acquisition of clients attending the Early Pregnancy Prenatal Series Program in 3 locations in one public health unit. The 12 participants who completed both the pre and post-tests comprised the sample. The difference in the post-test scores compared to the pre-test scores was significantly different to a 0.05 level.
