The trustworthiness of a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) comes from the data it receives, which in turn depends on the trustworthiness of each and every node in that network. Among several motivations for developing WSN trust models, the social networking and ecommerce models are based on the results from direct experiences on a peer-to-peer basis. The trusts for all these models are essentially based on the theory of posterior probability, where past performance is the basis for the future performance. This research establishes the similarity of the practice in Human Resource (HR) performance appraisal model to evaluate trust in a node, as if it was an employee of an organization. A simulator was developed that can randomly deploy nodes, form clusters, elect cluster heads and then establish communication between the nodes and cluster-heads. It can collect performance data of each cluster-head at each cycle of transmission and store the result. At the end of all cycles the performance data is used to calculate the trust of each and every sensor node in the network. The simulator can be easily customized to simulate other WSN protocols.
