Development of a Non-viral Delivery System for siRNA in Treatment of Lymphoma.

摘要

The aim of this work is to develop an effective non-viral carrier and to identify suitable gene targets that would induce apoptosis specifically in lymphoma cells upon down-regulation with short interfering RNA (siRNA). Lymphoma is common in children and young adults, and although survival rate is high, the short and long-term effects of conventional drug therapy constitute a major problem in patients' adult life. The use of siRNA and polymer-based carriers as a treatment for cancer is hypothesized to reduce the negative effects of drug treatment while increasing the survival rate.
