Improvement in food safety through the integration of Six Sigma, the Malcolm Baldrige criteria, and ISO Standards.

This thesis discusses the integration of regulations stipulated by the FDA and USDA, along with principles from Six Sigma, the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria, and ISO Standards, to assist food and beverage manufacturing companies in improving the safety and quality of their products, and the overall performance of their organizations. When the principles of Six Sigma, the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria, and ISO Standards are applied to food and beverage companies, a significant increase in their efficiency, productivity, and financial returns also is accomplished.;Food and beverage industry's compliance with governmental regulations and standards only provides the minimal assurance in regard to product safety. Food and beverage organizations can proactively and continuously address and resolve quality and safety issues that may occur during the production of their products with the use of Six Sigma, the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria, and ISO Standards.
