摘要

Reinforcing bar, more commonly known as rebar, is a vital part of all masonry constructions. It has ridges on its surface which distinguishes it from normal steel bars. These ridges provide better adhesion of concrete to the bar.;This thesis quantifies the change to mechanical properties, i.e., stress-strain curve, tensile and yield strength, and elongation, that result from various post-rolling histories. These include natural aging, artificial aging, and cold work/fabncation. The samples under consideration were ;The researcher carried out a detailed literature survey, verification of sample history, sample testing with documentation and interpretation of results as part of the research work. The experiments were carried out in strict accordance with ASTM A 370-03a (A9) which explains the guidelines for testing of steel reinforcing bars. This thesis would assist the steel mill in the assessment and application of rebar lots, as well as improve decisions on steel application for rolling.
