Possibilities for critical TESOL in Korea: Case study of an English village.

摘要

Drawing on a year of participatory research and observations at an English learning facility in a suburban satellite city of Seoul, this thesis explores the possibilities for doing critical pedagogy in Korea's English language teaching industry. Through observing and participating in the introduction of a critical program at The Village (pseudonym), the author finds that the landscape of the industry inhibits progressive efforts but also creates spaces that can be used by critically inclined English language educators.
