Interfacing clinical psychology with technology: Internet impact on service delivery.

Although psychology as a whole has adjusted to the technological movement in many ways, there is a lack of recognition for the impact and importance of how such changes affect the practice of clinical psychology. Because of the pace at which technology changes and the immense power these innovations carry, it is essential to examine what might be expected for the field of clinical psychology. Participants included 172 licensed psychologists, researchers, graduate students, and other licensed professionals who completed an online survey exploring current methods of Internet use within the field of psychology. Results revealed multiple areas of clinical psychology impacted by rapid technological changes including research, educational, social, multicultural, and ethical issues. Implications for further survey research are deemed necessary, pertinent, and valuable.
