East-West story telling: A comparison of the work of Chinese filmmakers Ang Lee and Zhang Yi Mou.

It is about a Comparison Chinese Filmmakers Ang Lee and Zhang Yi Mou, and it is will examine how these styles are different; how Ang Lee and Zhang Yi Mou's educational background and individual experiences influence their story-telling style and how their individual methods of storytelling have diverged from their original intended audiences. I will look at each director within specific cultural contexts, i.e., Chinese and western and cite examples in their past and recent films to demonstrate the apparent migration of Ang Lee from western storytelling toward Chinese storytelling and Zhang Yi Mou's traditional Chinese storytelling toward a more western style of storytelling. I will conclude with the impact of this migration that may affect their futures as film makers.
