House broken 2071: Designing with natural, dynamic forces in the future.

The thesis is set in the future, not to inform an aesthetic of technology and science fiction, but to allow the reader to step away from what they know about thinking, designing and constructing. The situations of possibilities for the future are analysed and interpreted as a list of options. These options formulate questions that the thesis plans to answer. The home is then exploded apart to allow for a study of specific requirements. Redefined, the home is reassembled as a series of relationships. Experiments with the presumed nature of architecture search for further options to the way we look at architecture and its relationship to natural occurrences.;Evolving from the set of studies are four case study presentations that investigate four directions for living. The drip home investigates materials and form. The equilibrium home balances power consumption and generation. The inflato-spray home proves construction techniques and material exploration. The bubble unit home looks at requirements for living, program and new understandings of spacial experiences.;Ultimately the goal is to discover how architecture can become the result of natural forces and existing energies rather than synthetic processes.
