摘要

本文是一篇英汉翻译实践报告。报告原文选自加拿大音乐历史学家大卫·梅泽尔所著的《美国流行音乐中的抒情歌曲—从猫王到碧昂丝》中的第四章。该书暂无中文译本。作者大卫·梅泽尔在书中用平实的语言追溯了美国抒情歌曲从20世纪50年代到现在的流派发展历程。本次翻译是在纽马克的交际翻译理论指导下完成的。该理论强调译者可用目标语读者所习惯的语言进行翻译，不必完全拘束于源语的语言形式，但要准确传达源语的信息和内容。 本次翻译实践报告重点分析了翻译实践过程中遇到的翻译难点和解决方法。翻译难点主要体现在词汇和句子两个层面。词汇层面的难点包括专有名词和较难的复合形容词。句子层面的难点集中在定语从句和松散句的翻译。基于此，译者选择相应的翻译方法解决翻译难点。在词汇层面，译者采用加注法、意译法以及增译法。在句子层面，译者采用顺译法、逆译法以及语态转换法，并将定语从句译成前置定语和并列分句。运用上述翻译方法，译者能够尽可能准确地传达源语信息，使目标语读者获得与源语读者相同的信息。 最后，报告对本次翻译实践进行了总结。一方面，译者收获了大量翻译经验，力求将这些翻译经验更好地应用于翻译实践，为翻译同类文本提供参考。另一方面，报告也列出了本次翻译实践的不足之处，并且对日后的翻译提出了建议。
