词块教学法对大学生英语能力影响的实证研究

摘要

目前高专院校学生英语学习效果不够理想，大多数学生难以流畅自如地使用英语。基于Michael Lewis词汇法、Nattinger和DeCarrico词块理论的大量研究表明词块这一可以整体储存或提取的特点不但可以有效地克服学习者因临时组合词汇和语法而出现的诸多错误，而且能够减轻语言处理的负担。因此，课堂教学采用词块教学利于提升学生的英语能力，提升其语言的地道性和流利性。近些年，虽然国内外对于词块的研究不断增多，仍然是实证研究少于理论研究，特别是关于高专院校英语学习者的实证性研究少之又少。 本文试图研究词块教学法能否提高大学生的英语能力。实验对象为铁岭师专的数学教育专业的两个平行班学生。在实验阶段，实验班采用词块教学法，控制班采用传统教学法。两个班级的背景知识，教师和教学材料皆相同。通过对他们在前测及后测中所取得的大学英语A级考试真题成绩数据进行分析，考察学习者的综合成绩同应用词块教学法有无联系和词块教学法对学生的单项技能的影响程度，及其对英语教学的启示。 实验结果表明词块教学法应用在大学英语教学中的有效性，这种方法能够帮助学生掌握更多的词块，逐渐提高其英语能力。本研究仍有不足，有待将来继续深入研究。
