As LWCF’s current authorization nears its expiration, we face an imminent need to join togetherrnin a reauthorization effort that will maintain or enhance LWCF’s strengths while surviving therncongressional paddle wheel. That said, the ticking clock on LWCF is not a reason to make changes to thernprogram that unnecessarily constrain its long-term effectiveness. Staying mindful of the facts above mayrnkeep us from overreacting to political pushback and from tilting at windmills. Working together, we canrnreauthorize LWCF in the best possible ways for the decades to come.
