1. R~* for spray-applied insulations produced with foamable adhesive was compared favorably with R~*-values for spray-applied insulations produced with liquid adhesives. The foamed fiberglass insulations are 0-3 % higher than the liquid products while the foamed cellulose were 3-5 % lower. 2. The spray-applied cellulose had R~* about 95% of the loose-fill insulation at the same density while the spray-applied fiberglass had R~* about 97% of the loose-fill insulation. 3. Both types of product lose about 1.5% of their R~*-values for every 10℉ increase in temperature. 4. R~* for spray-applied fiberglass produced with foamable adhesive is about 20% greater than the corresponding cellulose product at the same density. 5. Both product types exhibited shrinkage after installation. The shrinkage of the cellulose specimens was greater than that of the fiberglass specimens. Shrinkage of the cellulose specimens ranged from 4 to 15 vol. % while the fiberglass specimens ranged from 0 to 4 vol. %.
