Analysis and results for , the problem of computing three dimensional eddy current field of Ascending flanged bases (AFB) in a 360 MVA/500kV large power transformer are presented inanalytical method. Two types of AFB are discussed (1) the isolated phase AFB, and (2) the isolated pahse AFB where three phase AFB are linked electrically. A new method for calculating Bessel and Hankel functions with complex arguments is devised. Finally, an ideal structure of AFB is put forward.
